Well folks it is that time again, to take part in the 10 Wargame challenge that the guys at the War Room put together. Last year was my first year to complete the challenge, so we are hoping for another good result for 2025 as well.

Ok, enough of my rambling on, here is my list for 2025. I will start off with my 2 substitute games.
Substitute #1: Trench Raid from Compass games. It should be released later this year.
Substitute #2: Jeff Davis - White Dog Games
I am really looking forward to Trench Raid, it seems like it will be like a RPG game, so we will have to wait to decide if this is going to be a game that I enjoy playing. I do not play many RPG type games. The next one is Jeff Davis and it looks interesting. I will have this on the table no matter what sometime this year.
So onto the starting lineup! They appear in no order, I have not figured out what games I will play in what order.
Thunder at Cassino is an old school Avalon Hill area game. I opened the box and was quickly greeted with those ancient looking counters. I am excited to play this game as it has probably been 20 years since I had this on the table.
I, Napoleon is a little different type of game for me top play. I picked it up last year and I really want to get this on the table to play. I might do a video on this one. Stay Tuned.
As many of you know I love me some Combat Commander so I had been in the hunt for Great War Commander for a while. I finally got a copy from Noble Knight Games for a decent price. I am looking forward to playing this as well.
Enemy Action: Kharkov has been on my radar for a long time, so I picked up a copy late in 2024. it is a little more crunchy type of solo game than I am used to, but I am looking forward to diving into this game.
The Lamps Are Going Out. Yes folks I love World War I games and I am so excited to get this out to play. This game is from Compass and I am thinking that we will see this early in the challenge.
That is 5 games of the 10 game challenge. What do you think so far? Have you all played these games? What were your thoughts? Let me know.
Next up is France 40 a Mark Simonitch 40 series games. I have many of these games. I have not played France 40 so I am looking forward to playing this as well. I have heard that this game is a great introduction to the 40 series games. WWII Commander Battle Of The Bulge is on this list for one reason! I love playing this game! 8 pages of rules, easy to get into. A dice chucker and I am ok with that. This game is just fun. I will be playing FTF via Vassal with IDJester from the War Room later this week, so mark your calander and please come and check it out. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/@idjester
I have had Von Mansteins Backhand Blow in my collection for over 20 years and have not played it as well. So this year it will see the table. I love the look of the map and the components. This is one game I have high expectations about. Monty's Gamble Market Garden is an MMP product. I have the older ugly box edition, so I thought I would upgrade to the new version. Another area game and I love this topic, so I feel it will be a good choice to play.
Last but not least is No Retreat North Africa. I bought this game mostly for the Crete scenario, so that is what I will be playing. I love the Crete campaign and I really wish there were more games covering this area of the war. There it is. My 10+2 Wargame challenge games for 2025. What do you think? Are some of these games in your challenge for this year? Make sure to shoot me a note and let me know. If you want to see the video I did for the challenge go check it out! Until next time everyone..
Be Kind and happy Wargaming.
