It is hard to believe that March has come and gone and we are steamrolling into April. I was Extremely happy with my gameplay in March. I attended a ASLSK tournament for the first time in years and, I got another game on the table that I was excited to play. Let's get started with the Monthly Action Report for March. Check out my March Madness write-up here. I have played 7 games of my War Room 10, so I am on pace to easily get them all played. Time will tell. https://www.facebook.com/groups/641236526485893
The Table Top Report I had a wonderful month of gaming on the table. I had Imperial Tide set up for most of the month. I enjoy this game and it is easy to play solitaire so it works out great!
Western Front Ace is currently taking up real estate on the table along with Return to the Rock - Corregidor 1945. This Mike Rinella game looks great and I am looking forward to getting it onto the table. I have been playing in a campaign game of WFA. It is the first time that I have participated in anything like this. The Facebook page is great. You can see it here. Check out the Narrative for that game down below.
I think we will get Vive L'Empereur on the table next so stay tuned.
As you all know, I like to play on Vassal and March was no exception. I am currently playing 2-3 Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit games along with Salerno 43 and Imperial Tide. I have had some luck on the ASLSK front and have become comfortable with the Gun & Vehicle rules. I love the system and SK makes it easier to play without drowning in all of the clunky rules. I will not take the ASL plunge again, but I have seen ASLSK on my radar for a very long time. I would love to play France 40 shortly as well.
I have been back on the Combat Commander Ladder for 3 months now and I am 0-3. This month was purely my fault. Always read the victory conditions, is all I have to say. You can read the AAR here.
I have been playing around with the Random Scenario Generator (RSG) I played a scenario recently on board 24. Not my favorite board. It is always a race to the top of the hill and guess what? I lost today haha! It was over pretty quickly, but I am looking forward to playing more of these types of scenarios.
I received France 40 and Pacific Tide last month. I still have Holland 44 along with a couple of other surprises on pre-order. What are you all looking forward to getting in 2024? I am looking at a couple of titles. I have traded in more games at Knoble Knight Games so I am looking to acquire a few more newer titles. I have a soft spot for WWI games and have Death in the Trenches bookmarked. I also have an oldie but a goodie RAF (the 2nd printing) on my want list. I am just waiting for one to come in.
I think that about does it for the month. It has been great diving back into this amazing hobby.
Until next time, have fun, Be kind and happy wargaming.
