The temperatures are dropping and the mother nature has cooled things off significantly. This time of year provides me more time to focus on gaming and the past 2 months have been fantastic on the gaming front. Here is the monthly After Action Report for Oct & Nov 2024.
War Room 10 Challenge has been Completed! I finally got For The People on the table and that completed my 10 games I wanted to play for the challenge. You can see all of the games that I wanted to play here. https://www.cardboardcommander.com/post/my-ten-games-for-the-war-room-10-challenge
This challenge was a great motivation to play something new and to play some games that I had not played in awhile. Check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/641236526485893
As of today I have the following set up on my table. I purchased a couple of new games from Compass during their last sale and I have both of those games set up. I was very happy with the $45 spent to get these games. I will be doing a playthrough on both games in the near future.
I have gotten to play a few games on Vassal the past couple of months. I always seem to have a Advanced Squad Leader SK game going on, as well as my Monthly Combat Commander Ladder game. I am also in an Campaign of Western Front Ace on Facebook/ My French ace named Gilbert has been updating his diary and you can read all about his exploits here.
I was also asked to take part in a game of Triumph & Tragedy and I had a great time. I played the Soviets and truly enjoyed the game play and the flow of the game. I hope to play it again soon. I really enjoyed this 3 player game and I could see me picking up a copy in the near future.
I enjoy playing on Vassal, but I can only imagine how much fun this 3 player game would be face to face.
If any of you would like to play a game, send me a note and lets get it set up. Trust me, you will have a blast!
I have went kind of crazy on the Pre Order front. I have orders out there for the following titles.
Rebel Tide and British Tank Ace both from Compass games. I love the Tide series games and I am really looking forward to that game. Combat Commander BP #9: Island Hopping, Stalingrad '42 2nd Edition, The Dark Summer, A House Divided Designer Edition, Italy ’43, Combat Commander: Europe/Med. 20th Anniversary Edition all from GMT Games. I also backed my first Kickstarter and picked up The Rock Of Chickamauga from Flying Pig Games, So we will have to see how this experience goes.
I do not see me ordering anymore games for the rest of 2024. But there is still 30 days to make those choices haha!
