This is my first venture in doing a playthrough video for any game, so bear with me as I am sure there will be some mistakes on my part. In this first turn, I caught Four (4) and corrected the issue, so that when we start to turn Two (2) we should be on the correct track. So let me know what you think of the videos. If you like it or want to watch more of this train wreck, just hit subscribe and like.. It is free and it helps us out! Now on with the Manila - The Savage Streets, 1945. Turn 1, Playthrough.
Turn 2 - Can you say Pause? The pause Random event can be a killer. It sure slows down any attempt for an American push. My observations so far are very positive, The game flows well, and there are enough things to keep you thinking, that you never get bored. We will have to see how Turn #3 goes as we will need to make a push. We will need a good supply run and a favorable Random Event. Stay Tuned.
Turn #3 - A little push but not enough
The Americans made a little push and have started to make up some ground. It is still a tough go in Manila.
I want to thank all of you who have watched some of the playthrough videos. I apologize for some of the errors and will try to focus more on getting things correct. I appreciate the feedback. I am learning fast that this video playthrough process is a little harder than it looks. I will get better. Now onto Turn #4
Turn #4 - Still a rough go!
The Americans are finding it very difficult to gain any ground. Turn 4 was hard-fought, and the game is still in the balance.
Turn #5 - 37th Paused and a supply roll of 8! How do you roll an eight(8) with 4D6? It is almost impossible. Well, I may be a little dramatic, but it sure is hard to roll that low. Throw in the Randow Event of Pause for the 37th and it spells doom for the Americans. I don't know if they can come back from this turn. Stay tuned to find out.
Turn #6 - Stalemate is the outcome of the day The Americans can't catch a break, multiple stalemate outcomes in battles today have slowed the Americans down. I feel it is going to be very hard to win. I will keep trying but it will not be easy.
Turn 7 & 8 - Lack of Supply and American Pause have sealed the deal. The U.S. will lose this battle for Manila. The game is coming to an end, and the Americans are not doing very well. It will be almost impossible for the U.S. to win or even stay close in the final days. I have made a couple of rule errors that have impacted play, however I feel the luck of the draw or the FOG of war had more to do with the result. Lots of Stalemates, Pauses, and low supply have been the downfall of the American units.
Turn #9 - Americans take it on the chin !
Well, the game is over and I lost in a big way. We captured 26VP while watching our morale go down to 0. With all of that said it was a blast to play! I will be setting it back up and playing again next week. Don't worry, no more Manila videos haha! I do thank you all for watching.
Final Thoughts This game is a lot of fun. It is hard, but I think that is what makes a great solitaire game. I made a few mistakes with the rules, which happens to the best of us. I did not want to show a perfect video, as I want folks to know that mistakes will occur, especially when you are just learning a game. I respect all of the YouTube creators who put together such clean videos. I for one did not want to take the time to edit that closely and like I said before, you witnessed my learning the game. Some of you, well let's say most of you may not have made that many mistakes, but it happens. thanks again for watching. Take care and be kind.
