The guys at the War Room (Tony's Board Life, Rough Swordsman, and IDJester) have challenged folks to play 10 games in 2024. They call it the War Room 10 Challenge.
A few months back, I stumbled across their YouTube show the War Room. It is a great little podcast show, where these 3 guys chat about all things wargames and other games as well. They throw in some humor and History, and it is a good listen. I enjoy it.
One of the rules of the challenge, is you have to play the game after you post this list. So Normandy 44 which I have just finished playing can not be on the list. On a side note, Normandy 44 was amazing and I am looking forward to playing it again soon.
So here is my list for the Ten Game challenge. It has an old-school feel to it so you have been warned. These are in no particular order, but there are TEN of them. Here we go. #10: World War I - 1914 - 1918 #09: Salerno 43 #08: Fighting Formations - Battle of Kharkov #07: A House Divided #06: RAF - Battle Of Britain #05: The Hunters #04: Stalingrad - Advance To The Volga #03: B-17 - Queen Of The Skies #02: Manila - The Savage Streets #01: For The People
So there it is. I have not played these games recently except for Stalingrad and Salerno 43. I have Fighting Formations - Battle of Kharkov coming from Noble Night games, but the rest of these games are already sitting on my shelf.
I did not include Combat Commander, as I play in the ladder and that would be an easy one to knock out. I also did not put down ASL Starter Kit as I play that game every few weeks as well. I wanted to put down Paths Of Glory but I figure I will play that on my own. I want to try the CDG solo system so it might take a while for me to get through it.
Check out my first video podcast for the Cardboard Commander
Stay tuned as I will be posting pictures and I might even do a few videos capturing my playthrough moments. Until then have fun playing games, Be kind to people and stay safe.
Good luck to you this year... and hope you can win some prizes for completing your challenge in 2024..
