Remembering Rodger B. MacGowan (1948 - 2025)

The wargaming world lost a true legend on February 21, 2025. Rodger B. MacGowan wasn’t just an artist—he was a storyteller, a historian, and a visionary whose work shaped the way we experience board wargaming. If you've ever picked up a wargame and admired the cover art or flipped through an issue of Fire & Movement or C3i, you've felt his influence.

From his early days in the 1970s to co-founding GMT Games and creating C3i, Rodger didn’t just contribute to the hobby—he defined it. His art brought battlefields to life, his magazines deepened our understanding, and his passion inspired generations of gamers.

Rodger may be gone, but his legacy will carry on every time a gamer sets up a scenario, debates strategy over a map, or flips through the pages of C3i. His impact on the hobby is permanent, and his influence will be felt for decades to come.

Rest in peace, Rodger. You will be missed, but never forgotten. 🎲📰🎨 #WargamingLegend #RodgerMacGowan #GoneButNeverForgotten
